During the consultation, the dermatologist examines the area of concern, discusses available treatment options, and provides a fee estimate for the recommended procedure. If the patient chooses to proceed, the procedure is scheduled at a convenient time. In some cases, a minor procedure may be performed during the same visit.
A consultation fee applies for all procedural dermatology visits. Procedural services are private-pay and not covered by OHIP. A detailed fee estimate for any recommended procedure is provided during the consultation appointment, before any treatment is scheduled.

No. A physician referral is not required for procedural dermatology services such as growth removal, laser treatments, or scar revision. Consultations can be booked directly with the clinic. A referral is only required for medical dermatology consultations covered by OHIP.

All procedures are performed by a Royal College-certified dermatologist. A consultation is required before any procedure.
A procedural consultation typically lasts 10 to 30 minutes. The visit includes an examination of the treatment area, a discussion of options and expected outcomes, and a review of fees. Additional time may be needed if photography or measurements are required.
The following items should be brought to the consultation:
- A valid photo identification
- A list of current medications and supplements
- Any relevant medical history or previous treatment records
- Photos of the area of concern if the appearance changes over time
- A list of questions for the dermatologist
