Centre for Medical and Surgical Dermatology is the comprehensive consulting service for the diagnosis and treatment diseases of skin, hair and nails, and provides the highest standards of the Dermatological care. The Center serves the Greater Toronto area including Durham and York municipalities, Toronto and through the Teledermatology (online visit) service the whole Ontario.


Medical Dermatology services comprise treatment of the complex skin conditions including Psoriasis, Eczema, Contact Dermatitis, Acne, Rosacea, Drug eruptions, Urticaria, Hair loss, and infectious diseases of skin and nails.


Surgical Dermatology services provide removal of moles, skin tags, brown spots (Seborrheic Keratosis), red spots (Cherry Angiomas), and scar revision, including acne scars.


Early diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance of skin cancers is essential in the Dermatological care and collaboration with Plastic and MOHS Surgery, Medical and Radiation Oncology allows to provide the most effective strategy with the best outcome.


Teledermatology is a subspecialty of dermatology that uses modern technologies such as video, audio, and data transmission in order to provide dermatology service remotely without visiting the Dermatology Clinic.


Dr. Maksym Breslavets MD, PhD, FRCPC, FAAD is the Medical Director and the Founder of the Centre for Medical and Surgical Dermatology and he is the board-certified Dermatology Specialist. Originally from Ukraine, he has dual Northern American and European training in Dermatology that allows him to bring this unique expertise and experience to the care of his patients. Besides the dedication to clinical dermatology, Dr. Breslavets is a devoted researcher and the author of research papers published in the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Maksym Breslavets is an active Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well the American Academy of Dermatology. His professional affiliations include Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, American Academy of Dermatology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Canadian Dermatology Association, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Contact Dermatitis Society, Ontario Medical Association, and Canadian Medical Association.


Comprehensive skin care is only possible with the objective assessment of the skin parameters. Skin e-Lab is the research unit affiliated with the Centre that provides opportunity for skin digital image analysis, assessment of biomechanical properties, sebum production, hydration, desquamation, erythema, and melanin content. The latest research is related to the application of Artificial Intelligence into practical Dermatology. The results of the study were published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD).
