The proper post-surgical procedure skin and wound care are essential during the recovery period: this helps to minimize the scar and improve the cosmetic outcome.

Stratamed is a very effective and safe form of advanced and semi-occlusive film-forming wound dressing. It is used after surgery, on deeper wounds, and after full field medical procedures like an ablative laser. Its formula ensures that there is a strong contact with the damaged surface or wound bed. As a result, it helps to prevent the formation of abnormal scarring, which usually results from various injuries and skin damages (e.g. cuts and burns).

Stratamed has a non-reactive formula. It is inert, has no pH value, does not contain alcohol, paraben or fragrances. Stratamed is designed for all types of skin. Pregnant women, mothers who breastfeed, children, and individuals with sensitive skin can safely use it if needed. 

It is recommended to use Stratamed immediately after the appearance of new open wounds or on compromised skin as a result of surgical or cosmetic procedures or after an injury (e.g. cuts and burns).

Stratamed dries and forms a thin, protective, and flexible layer which creates waterproof and gas-permeable conditions. The compromised skin areas and open wounds remain hydrated and well-protected from different microbial and chemical invasions. 

After application of Stratamed, the epidermal cells get stimulated to move up to the surface of the dermis via the wound exudate which is being collected at the interface of the wound dressing. This environment ensures that secondary tissue damage is prevented from dehydration. Moreover, it also promotes enzymatic autolytic debridement. The wound dressing interphase promotes the benefits of growth factors that help to heal wounds. Stratamed emulates the epidermal barrier and enhances the healing process. It prevents water loss while at the same time helping to maintain the appropriate rate of oxygen transfer. 

Stratamed is recommended to be applied once or twice per day on the exposed area(s). In order to achieve the best results, it is recommended to apply Stratamed continuously on the affected area(s). 

How to apply Stratamed? First, the affected skin and/or wound has to be clean. It is also recommended to dry this area as much as possible to remove any excess exudate and wound fluid by gently patting. Then, a very thin layer of Stratamed has to be applied directly to the affected area(s). The gel has to dry: this usually takes approximately 5 to 6 minutes. Once it has dried up, Stratamed can be covered with cosmetic products, clothes, and/or sunscreen. 

How to remove Stratamed? Any excess amount of Stratamed on hands can be removed by simply washing them under warm water and using liquid soap. On the affected area(s) the excess amount of Stratamed can be removed either with a paper towel or tissue so that drying can occur within recommended 5-6 minutes.
